Who are Seventh-day Adventists?
Our Fundamental Beliefs
The Seventh-day Adventist Church holds 28 fundamental beliefs, organized under six major doctrinal categories.
The Doctrine of God
- Holy Scriptures: God's inspired Word and authoritative revealer of doctrines
- Trinity: One God eternally exists as three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- Father: Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation
- Son: Jesus Christ, God the eternal Son, incarnate for our salvation
- Holy Spirit: Active with the Father and Son in Creation and redemption
The Doctrine of Creation
- Creation: God created all things as revealed in Scripture
- Nature of Man: Made in God's image with individuality and freedom of choice
The Doctrine of Salvation
- Great Controversy: Humanity's involvement in the conflict between Christ and Satan
- Christ's Ministry: Through His life, death, and resurrection, provided atonement for sin
- Salvation Experience: Justification and adoption as God's children
- Growing in Christ: Victory through Christ's triumph over evil
The Doctrine of the Church
- Church Community: Believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Unity: One body with many members from every nation
- Baptism & Communion: Sacred ordinances symbolizing our faith and unity
- Spiritual Gifts: Divine endowments for service and ministry
The Christian Life
- God's Law: Ten Commandments as His standard of conduct
- Sabbath: God's perpetual sign of His covenant with His people
- Stewardship: Managing time, abilities, and possessions for God's glory
- Christian Conduct: Living in harmony with biblical principles
- Marriage: Divinely established union between man and woman

- Heavenly Sanctuary: Christ's ministry on our behalf
- Second Coming: The blessed hope of the church
- Death and Resurrection: The promise of eternal life through Christ
